Day 14: Friends and Stuff

Another great day! My friend David came to see me from the parking deck today. I talked to him on the phone while we waved. It was great!

Mom went back home after lunch to take Ryan and Austin to their first day of school tomorrow. All my friends are starting school this week. I hope they all have a great start to the year and I can't wait until I can be with them all again.

This afternoon Dad and I watched some of the NASCAR race. Jimmy Johnson came in 12th. I also did another 78 laps around the halls.

So here's the hat of the day:

A cheeseburger, silly huh?

And here is a funny joke from a book Ms. Lisa from Dad's work sent me:

What has four legs and one arm?

A happy alligator!!!

Tonight dad and I are going to watch more movies and play Battleship.

AJ,
It sounds like you and your dad are having a really good time. It's nice that both your mom and dad are getting to stay with you while you are in the hospital. Again, I love the hat and the joke!! I'm also so happy you got to visit with another one of your friends. Remember that we miss you at Horizon and can't wait until you can be with us again. Keep adding to those laps.:)
Lots of love,
Mrs. Parker

AJ,

Cheeseburgers are my favorite food, so that is my favorite hat so far. I heard there is a place called Cheeseburger Charley's on
21st just down from Vanderbilt. It is rumored to be extra yummy. Maybe you guys can do carry-out as a special treat.

Anna will check the blog tomorrow after school. She is hoping to talk with you soon.

Love,
Ms. Jackie

Hi Cheeseburger Head!

You look VERY DIGNIFIED in your latest head covering. I'm glad that you are getting to see some of your friends--that is a very cool arrangement that the hospital makes for you and other patients who have to stay in.

Well, it finally rained very hard last night after 27 days without any precipitation. That is a very long time for us and it has been extremely hot and dry and the plants are smiling today! Our grass is still brown, but the rhododendrons in our yard aren't drooping anymore!

Tonight I have to sing for a recording of music for a Dreamworks video game--I don't know which one, but I will tell you after I do it (if I find out). I have sung for Halo II & Halo III and World of Warcraft... Everyone your age is impressed with that, even though I don't know anything about them (I'm an old fogey! haha! Ask your dad what an old fogey is...)!! It's just a singing job for me!

OK, AJ, keep up the good work and heal, heal, heal!!! We're praying for you and pulling for you...

Love,
Mary Jo & David

AJ,
Today I saw Austin at school. I hope he had a great day. I didn't see Ryan. Are they in the same class? I hope they have fun.
The playground is very different this year.

Love,
Anna

AJ, I just read your joke to Mr. Mike and he thought it was pretty funny too! I still think the snake hat has been the best so far.
We just had dinner at Rosie's with David and family and they were telling us that they had stopped to see you in Nashville. You have so many good friends and an awesome family. Know there are many people praying for you.
It is a blessing to read you blogspot everyday. Ms. Pam
