I just found out that one of the medicines I will take will make me lose my hair - I AM GOING TO BE BALD! Before it falls out, I want to do something CRAZY with my hair. Will you help me figure out what I should do? Maybe a mohawk? Maybe dyeing it my favorite color, yellow? I would love to get suggestions from you.
I will also be wearing a lot of hats. I want funny hats, crazy hats. Let me know if you would like to send me a silly hat.

Although I've never had the pleasure of meeting you, your mom was one of the best teachers I've ever had, and you seem like a great kid!
I like the multicolored mohawk idea your aunt and uncle suggested a few minutes ago. You'd definitely pull off the rockstar look.
I'll keep an eye out for hats for you, since we probably have a bigger selection up here in Wisconsin, where we have to wear them half the year. And now that I know your favorite color...well, I'm sure something will come along.

So I first thought mohawk but everyone has one of those. So maybe you could make it different by making it a zig-zag mohawk somehow? And there definately should be color. I liked Denice's idea of doing multi- colors! I will also be on the look out for a funny hat for you :)

My vote is to get a buzz cut, then shave a path through it - you could put all sorts of crazy colors on different parts of it like a maze.
Or, to make your parents happy, you could shave a little UM Cane Crane into the middle and dye the rest green and orange!

Dear AJ,
If you have your hair shaved, save it. Buy a cool colored paper (at Hobby Lobby) and you can frame your hair. Spread it out in cool designs made by pushing it around on the paper with your fingers. Then lay the piece of glass on top and frame it. Have photos made of you in your funny hats that people send you and have your mom make a collage of you in the funny hats. When you are through with your treatments, donate it to the Childrens wing at the hospital. I bet it will brighten up other children and show them how a real ROCK STAR went through this! I loved the comment under your blog photo "it will grow back" and you know what it WILL. You are a great example.

First off, your picture cracks me up!!! And I love your idea of doing something crazy with it before it falls out! I think do as many things as you can. Dye it. Add extensions to it. Get a mohawk. Shave something in the side.
And I love the idea that Mrs. Kathy gave about creating artwork with the hair.

I think you should braid your hair in lots of little braids. Then shave a mowhawk right through the middle. Kendal suggested hot pink for the color (yeah right)! I say forget about all of this Miami nonsense and "War Eagle". Blue and Orange man!

A.J. What a great picture of your reaction to no hair. Don't worry it will grow back and besides you will still the best looking guy in town. One of the boys in our family does his hair like this - he pulls it all up on top into a mohawk - then his mom dyes the mohawk blue. He says his name is Dyneco (from the Cars movie) when his hair is blue.
