Day -5 - First Round of Chemo

I am doing good. I have started the medicine that will make my hair fallout and I am getting a lot of water in me. It is making me have to go to the bathroom A LOT! My nurse Caroline is going to wake me up every 2 hours through the night to make sure I use the bathroom even more. They said the medicine might make me feel sick or my stomach upset but so far I feel fine. My strength stone is keeping me strong.

We spent the day playing games on my laptop and hanging out. We played in the playroom a little while. I did 104 laps around the unit floor - they said 26 laps = 1 mile, so did 4 miles. Tomorrow I am going to walk some more.

Thank you to every one who is sending me messages and prayers. It makes me happy every time I read one.

AJ

PS- My webcam is set up and working. I talked with my brothers and grandparents this morning. It is very cool. Let me know if you want to webchat with me.

Wow!! 104 Laps! That's a lot! We have some things to send you, just waiting for Aunt Vanessa to get us an address. We found some things we thought would help keep you busy! Also, we're not sure what you're using for your webcam, but we have a Skype account. We are mcgarryfour. Maybe we could meet someday on Skype!

Stay strong!

4 miles! Good grief - I only walked 2 today. You make me look like a total wimp, man! Good for you :) We have a web cam too, so I will have Mr. Paul teach us how to use it and you can talk to David and Kendal. The lady shaved off David's mowhawk today and man did she shave off some major hair! I can almost see his brain - ha ha - just kidding :). I love your pillow case. Did you get to write on it? We love you buddy!
Love,
Ms. Lindsay

A.J.!! Man, 104 laps is fantastic! You will stay in shape through all of this, that's for sure. David and I are following you blog and are impressed with what a great patient you are being. It sounds like all the nurses are enjoying working with you. OK, we are praying all the way... You go, guy!!

Love,
Mary Jo & David

Hey there AJ,
104 laps is a lot of walking!!! And I would be willing to bet that you still had lots of energy left after 4 miles!! You make me feel guilty for only walking one mile today.:) I know you are loving your laptop. I don't have a webcam but I'm planning to get one soon and we can chat. It's really cool that you can talk to your brothers and grandparents everyday. It is great to hear from you today and I am so glad your feel good and strong. I'm thinking about you everyday. I love you!
Mrs. Parker
PS-How many of those brain teasers have you figured out? Let me know if you need more. :)

AJ,
Thank you so much for your sweet note that led me to this blog. This is the very first time I have blogged. So, thanks to you I am entering the 21st Century!!! I hope you continue to walk 104 laps!!! I will think of you this morning as a trudge through my 2 miles!!!
I hope you have enough to read. Let me know if you need any more ideas.
You are always in my prayers.

I am so glad that you are finding ways to stay busy and active. That must mean you are feeling okay. Our webcam is not yet working but Dad promises to get it going as soon as possible. I will bug him until he does. Actually he is excited about it too, so he is motivated. Once we know who my teacher is, we are going to talk to her about getting a webcam for the class. That will be cool. Can you believe we are 3rd graders?
Stay Strong,
Anna

Hi AJ,

Your mohawk looks funky! I wish I could get a mohawk too but my mom doesn't want me to get one. We went to Dollywood last week and my mom took me on the Dizzy Disk and I got sick, but I got over it quickly and had a good time. My mom got soaked on the River Battle but I had fun shooting the water cannons at people. I wish you could've been there. I hope you get better soon.
Sincerely,
Andrew Balazsy

Hi AJ, I just wanted to let you know that you've inspired me to go walking too. I have plotted out a path around my neighborhood. So, I will walk 3 miles a day, with you. Thank you and hope you feel better soon :)

Four miles! Wow, you are Superman, AJ! I'm enjoying reading your updates and I'm happy to know you have a webcam. I recently got a new mac computer with a built in webcam. I haven't used it yet but you give me great reason to try to figure it out. Ask your mom to send me your username so I can find you. Maybe I'll see your cute face this weekend. Get to feeling better and know that I'm thinking about you and praying for your whole family.
